En son honneur, le NEM et la Facult\u00e9 de musique de l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al (UdeM) pr\u00e9sentent le concert <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hommage \u00e0 Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00e9vost<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, webdiffus\u00e9 en direct de la salle Claude-Champagne, le 16 avril 2021 \u00e0 20h et en rediffusion les 17 et 18 avril 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Form\u00e9 au Conservatoire de musique de Montr\u00e9al, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00e9vost <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1934-2001)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">est l&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e8ve d&#8217;Isabelle Delorme, Jean Papineau-Couture et Clermont P\u00e9pin. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des bourses du Conseil des arts du Canada et du gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec, il s\u2019envole \u00e0 Paris o\u00f9 il \u00e9tudie aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s d\u2019Olivier Messiaen et Henri Dutilleux. En 1963, il remporte le Prix d&#8217;Europe, une r\u00e9compense qui lui permet de se former \u00e0 la musique \u00e9lectroacoustique avec Michel Philippot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Au cours des ann\u00e9es 1960, Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00e9vost enseigne au Centre de musique de Tanglewood avec d\u2019autres membres du corps professoral tels Aaron Copland, Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly, Gunther Schuller et Elliott Carter. En avril 1967, accompagn\u00e9 de Mich\u00e8le Lalonde, il pr\u00e9sente l\u2019oratorio, adapt\u00e9 de l&#8217;\u0153uvre d&#8217;Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Terre des hommes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, lors des c\u00e9r\u00e9monies d&#8217;ouverture de l&#8217;Exposition universelle de 1967, \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 partir de l&#8217;automne 1965, jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 sa retraite en 1996, il est professeur de composition \u00e0 la Facult\u00e9 de musique de l&#8217;UdeM. Parmi ses \u00e9l\u00e8ves notables figurent les compositeurs Jos\u00e9 Evangelista, Denis Gougeon, Anne Lauber, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Monta\u00f1\u00e9s et Michel Longtin. C\u2019est au sein de cette m\u00eame Facult\u00e9 de musique qu&#8217;Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00e9vost a vu na\u00eetre le NEM; pendant trois d\u00e9cennies, lui et l\u2019Ensemble ont jou\u00e9, collabor\u00e9 et partag\u00e9 leur m\u00eame ferveur pour la musique contemporaine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La pi\u00e8ce phare de cet <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hommage \u00e0 Andr\u00e9 Pr\u00e9vost<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, le concerto pour violoncelle <\/span><b><i>Menuhin : Pr\u00e9sence<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ultime \u0153uvre du compositeur, sera reprise aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du violoncelliste de renom Yegor Dyachkov avec qui le NEM avait cr\u00e9\u00e9 l\u2019\u0153uvre en d\u00e9cembre 2000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le documentaire <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Menuhin : Pr\u00e9sence\u2026 Je me souviens<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par James Dormeyer, retrace avec force et \u00e9motion les derni\u00e8res r\u00e9p\u00e9titions pr\u00e9c\u00e9dant la cr\u00e9ation de l&#8217;oeuvre.
