La premi\u00e8re pi\u00e8ce\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0Allegro energico \u00bb provoque un effet de mouvement continu gr\u00e2ce aux incessants traits de croches.\u00a0 Le deuxi\u00e8me pr\u00e9lude de cet extrait (\u00ab Spring Thaw \u00bb, ou D\u00e9gel printanier), hommage \u00e0 la po\u00e8te\u00a0 canadienne Margaret Avison, fait \u00e9merger des jeux de contraste de m\u00e9lodies et de couleurs. Dans le\u00a0 dernier pr\u00e9lude (\u00ab Off-beat Waltz \u00bb, ou Valse en contretemps) John Burge superpose moult couches\u00a0 rythmiques et lyriques : c\u2019est une valse, comme son nom l\u2019indique, qui rappelle les motifs musicaux des\u00a0 pr\u00e9ludes pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>John Burge\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le compositeur canadien John Burge, laur\u00e9at d\u2019un Prix Juno, s\u2019est taill\u00e9 une r\u00e9putation remarquable\u00a0 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019originalit\u00e9 et la versatilit\u00e9 de son langage musical. John Burge est \u00e9galement pianiste, et se\u00a0 produit r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement comme soliste ou au sein de divers ensembles. Il est par ailleurs, depuis 1987,\u00a0 professeur de composition et de th\u00e9orie musicale \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Queen\u2019s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le Prix Andr\u00e9-Bachand, d\u2019une valeur de 2 000 $ sera d\u00e9cern\u00e9 au concurrent ou \u00e0 la concurrente offrant\u00a0 la meilleure interpr\u00e9tation de l\u2019\u0153uvre canadienne impos\u00e9e. Tous les concurrents doivent inclure une\u00a0 \u0153uvre de Bach au programme de leur choix (\u00e9preuves de la demi-finale ou de la finale).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le Prix Festival Bach Montr\u00e9al, d\u2019une valeur de 1 500 $ sera d\u00e9cern\u00e9 au concurrent ou \u00e0 la concurrente\u00a0 offrant la meilleure interpr\u00e9tation d\u2019une \u0153uvre de J. S. Bach. Le CMIM remercie le Festival Bach\u00a0 Montr\u00e9al pour ce partenariat qui contribue \u00e0 l\u2019attribution de ce prix.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Strat\u00e9gie d\u2019un programme gagnant\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019issue d\u2019un concours comme le CMIM est aussi li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019aspect tactique de la comp\u00e9tition. La s\u00e9lection\u00a0 des \u0153uvres et leur ordre d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation peuvent \u00eatre d\u00e9terminants sur le r\u00e9sultat d\u2019un concours. Les\u00a0 27 concurrents ont donc \u00e9labor\u00e9 minutieusement les programmes de leurs deux \u00e9preuves virtuelles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Vote du public\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le public est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 devenir le 10e juge du jury international du CMIM en votant pour son coup de\u00a0 c\u0153ur.
