Il a fait des contributions valables au r\u00e9pertoire, dont certaines pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans cette anthologie d\u2019enregistrements radiophoniques de la SRC. L\u2019Ascension, la seconde envol\u00e9e des trois Cantiones Mysticae, est interpr\u00e9t\u00e9e ici de mani\u00e8re honorable, mais acoustiquement effac\u00e9e par Janet Smith (qui, comme beaucoup de sopranos aigu\u00ebs, n\u2019est pas facile \u00e0 comprendre) et les Thirteen Strings sous Brian Law. (Nous connaissons la date de diffusion, en 1985, mais pas la date du concert.) La qualit\u00e9 sonore et le jeu des cordes sont plus attrayants dans Deux \u00e9tudes, interpr\u00e9t\u00e9es par le CBC Vancouver Orchestra sous la baguette fiable et pr\u00e9cise de Mario Bernardi. La premi\u00e8re des deux \u00e9tudes a assez de force pour \u00eatre qualifi\u00e9e de bart\u00f3kienne. On pourrait dire que le mouvement interm\u00e9diaire du Concerto Grosso (Chamber Players of Toronto sous Victor Martin) fusionne Sch\u00f6nberg avec Barber et m\u00eame Mahler; c\u2019est le point culminant sombre de cette pi\u00e8ce autrement nerveuse. George\u00a0III His Lament (Orchestre symphonique de Winnipeg sous Simon Streatfeild, dont le nom inusit\u00e9 est apparemment vou\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00eatre mal orthographi\u00e9) est un ensemble de variations invers\u00e9es qui r\u00e9v\u00e8le son \u00ab\u00a0th\u00e8me\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 la fin. Une ing\u00e9nieuse orchestration est un atout. Au total, cependant, l\u2019enregistrement est moins essentiel que l\u2019album Ridout enregistr\u00e9 par Centrediscs en 1990 avec l\u2019abondamment enregistr\u00e9 Toronto Symphonic Orchestra sous l\u2019inspir\u00e9 Victor Feldbrill.
