Je sais que certains lecteurs ne regardent pas plus loin que la cote d&#8217;\u00e9toiles avant de se d\u00e9cider. Le jeu de l&#8217;Orchestre philharmonique d&#8217;Oslo est remarquablement color\u00e9 et subtil, avec des nuances d&#8217;authentique for\u00eat russe \u00e9voqu\u00e9es par le chef d&#8217;orchestre Vassily Petrenko. J&#8217;ai entendu le Philharmonique de Berlin jouer le Prokofiev avec un peu plus de mordant et de beaut\u00e9, ce qui signifie que je ne peux pas donner aux Norv\u00e9giens cinq \u00e9toiles compl\u00e8tes en toute bonne conscience. C&#8217;est l\u00e0 que les choses se d\u00e9forment. C&#8217;est une performance fabuleuse, avec ou sans \u00e9toiles.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;Adagio sonore de la Cinqui\u00e8me de Prokofiev est merveilleusement fa\u00e7onn\u00e9, un m\u00e9lange impressionnant de peur et d&#8217;espoir, et de peur encore. Cr\u00e9\u00e9e \u00e0 Moscou en janvier 1945, la symphonie se voulait un hymne \u00e0 la libert\u00e9 au moment o\u00f9 Staline s&#8217;appr\u00eatait \u00e0 \u00e9craser une fois de plus les artistes. Le timing de Prokofiev a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 mauvais, politiquement parlant.<\/p>\n<p>J&#8217;aimerais que nous entendions davantage parler de Nikola\u00ef Myaskovsky (1881-1950). Myaskovsky garde ses symphonies courtes et ses \u00e9motions contenues. La 21e symphonie, command\u00e9e par l&#8217;Orchestre symphonique de Chicago en 1940, nous fait d\u00e9couvrir quatre mouvements entrelac\u00e9s en un quart d&#8217;heure seulement. L&#8217;\u00e9criture, en particulier pour les vents, est exquise et l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re invitante. Petrenko dirige avec ferveur, temp\u00e9r\u00e9e par la retenue. L&#8217;\u00e9quipe d&#8217;Oslo joue avec passion. Ils m\u00e9ritent cinq \u00e9toiles et je suis frustr\u00e9 de devoir en retenir une.
