Mansurian est, comme son nom l&#8217;indique, arm\u00e9nien. La concentration est si intense qu&#8217;on a l&#8217;impression que chaque note a \u00e9t\u00e9 polie et envelopp\u00e9e dans de la cellophane avant d&#8217;\u00eatre mise sur la page et diffus\u00e9e dans l&#8217;air. En ces temps de tension et de banalit\u00e9, vous trouverez peut-\u00eatre que <em>Con anima<\/em> est l&#8217;une des meilleures fa\u00e7ons de passer les 15 prochaines minutes de votre vie.<\/p>\n<p>Non moins spirituel est un <em>Agnus Dei<\/em> pour violon, clarinette, violoncelle et piano compos\u00e9 \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire du violoniste Oleg Kagan, m\u00ealant l&#8217;ambiance klezmer des m\u00e9lodies arm\u00e9niennes et un peu de folklore am\u00e9ricain dans le style d&#8217;Aaron Copland.<\/p>\n<p>La voix de Mansurian est sans \u00e9quivoque. M\u00eame si son language reste toujours arm\u00e9nien, sa musique est empreinte de r\u00e9f\u00e9rences contemporaines au minimalisme, \u00e0 l&#8217;atonalit\u00e9 et aux micro-tons. Le troisi\u00e8me quatuor \u00e0 cordes, datant de 1993, fr\u00e9mit d&#8217;une anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 palpable qui pourrait refl\u00e9ter des fissures post-sovi\u00e9tiques dans son univers cr\u00e9atif.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;altiste am\u00e9ricain Kim Kashkashian joue un r\u00f4le de premier plan parmi les autres membres importants de la diaspora arm\u00e9nienne sur cet album, mais la v\u00e9ritable star est le compositeur &#8211; et, pour ne pas l&#8217;oublier, le label ECM qui a tant fait au fil des ans pour attirer notre attention sur Mansurian et sa voix typiquement arm\u00e9nienne.
