Lui donner une \u00e9toile serait une insulte, deux \u00e9toiles une grossi\u00e8re surestimation. L\u2019absence d\u2019\u00e9toile est ce qui repr\u00e9sente le mieux l\u2019inconfort que je ressens en \u00e9coutant John Williams diriger ses partitions pour films avec l\u2019Orchestre symphonique de Vienne.<\/p>\n<p>Cela n\u2019enl\u00e8ve aucun m\u00e9rite \u00e0 Williams, un chef capable ayant cumul\u00e9 des ann\u00e9es d\u2019exp\u00e9rience en dirigeant l\u2019orchestre Boston Pops. Mais absolument aucun m\u00e9rite ne va \u00e0 l\u2019Orchestre philharmonique de Vienne, un orchestre qui a entretenu son pedigree pendant pr\u00e8s de 180 ans, uniquement pour le g\u00e2cher sur des pages de musique \u00e9crites pour mettre en valeur des images en mouvements et qui, avec trop peu de morceaux exceptionnels, n\u2019existent pas d\u2019elles-m\u00eames. Jou\u00e9e par l\u2019Orchestre philharmonique de Vienne, elle sonne comme une Halloween \u00e0 la cath\u00e9drale Saint-\u00c9tienne, un assortiment de mythes contraires \u2013 trop lisse, trop faussement dramatique, trop asservie au film pour \u00eatre cr\u00e9dible en elle-m\u00eame. <em>La Guerre des \u00e9toiles<\/em> sonne comme une cascade d\u2019ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes d\u00e9rout\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Anne-Sophie Mutter joue la danse du diable des <em>Sorci\u00e8res d&#8217;Eastwick<\/em> avec la nervosit\u00e9 de <em>Bart\u00f3k<\/em> et une autre danse d&#8217;<em>Indiana Jones <\/em>avec une l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 laqu\u00e9e. J&#8217;ai arr\u00eat\u00e9 de compter les milliers d&#8217;heures que ces cent musiciens tri\u00e9s sur le volet ont d\u00fb investir en pratique pour la cr\u00e9ation de cette vacuit\u00e9 instrumentale. Un jour, j\u2019esp\u00e8re oublier ce que je viens d\u2019entendre.
