Ce n\u2019est pas le cas de Mahler, qui est si bien log\u00e9 dans ma m\u00e9moire que je peux me rappeler n&#8217;importe quel th\u00e8me sans effort. Ni de Beethoven, qui est avec moi toute l\u2019ann\u00e9e apr\u00e8s mon petit d\u00e9jeuner. Mais c\u2019est certainement le cas de Chostakovitch et de son ami proche, Weinberg, non loin derri\u00e8re. Il \u00e9crivit le concerto pour violoncelle en 1956 durant le \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9gel\u00a0\u00bb politique suivant la d\u00e9nonciation de Staline par Khrouchtchev. Il le fit jouer en premi\u00e8re par Mstislav Rostropovitch, le plus grand violoncelliste de Russie. C\u2019est une \u0153uvre folklorique remplie de th\u00e8mes juifs et dont le second mouvement anticipe <em>Un violon sur le toit.<\/em> Au c\u0153ur de l&#8217;antis\u00e9mitisme sovi\u00e9tique, Weinberg a cri\u00e9 sa jud\u00e9it\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le violoncelliste britannique Raphael Wallfisch joue le concerto avec une grande empathie, en symbiose avec l\u2019Orchestre symphonique de Kristiansand dirig\u00e9 par \u0141ukasz Borowicz. La d\u00e9couverte majeure sur cet album est un concertino pour violoncelle et orchestre que Weinberg a \u00e9crit en 1948 et qu\u2019il a d\u00fb retirer par crainte de repr\u00e9sailles staliniennes. In\u00e9dit jusqu&#8217;en 2017, c&#8217;est une m\u00e9ditation silencieuse sur des airs ouvertement juifs, d&#8217;une culture r\u00e9cemment ravag\u00e9e par Hitler et maintenant pers\u00e9cut\u00e9e par Staline. Je connais bien le concerto pour violoncelle, mais je suis port\u00e9 \u00e0 croire que le concertino frappe plus fort \u2212 plus poignant, plus captivant, plus musical.
