Le triptyque<i> The Mortality Songs<\/i>, une \u0153uvre de jeunesse du chor\u00e9graphe ontarien, a d\u2019ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 le pivot d\u2019une campagne de lev\u00e9e de fonds pour les victimes du VIH \u00e0 Toronto. <b>Le Dietrich Group<\/b>, plate-forme d\u2019\u00e9changes interactifs fond\u00e9e par Hoskins en 2008, poursuit l\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019observation et cr\u00e9\u00e9e <i>ARTFAG,<\/i>\u00a0 un autre triptyque abordant la question de l\u2019individualit\u00e9 et des st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes sexuels.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman',serif;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman',serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Hoskins a souhait\u00e9, pour <b><i> Portrait<\/i> <\/b>, placer l\u2019individu et son potentiel cr\u00e9ateur au c\u0153ur de la repr\u00e9sentation, mettre en lumi\u00e8re l\u2019origine m\u00eame de l\u2019acte de cr\u00e9ation. L\u2019individu et son int\u00e9grit\u00e9 sont des th\u00e8mes de premi\u00e8re importance dans l\u2019\u0153uvre du chor\u00e9graphe. Le spectacle est, selon son concepteur, en partie auto biographique et \u00e9voque certains \u00e9pisodes difficiles de sa propre vie.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman',serif;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman',serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Darryl Hoskins est de plus un artiste visuel reconnu. Il souhaite conserver cette approche et ainsi inviter le public \u00e0 regarder autrement la danse . La danse, croit le chor\u00e9graphe, ne devrait pas \u00eatre r\u00e9duite \u00e0 sa simple expression r\u00e9cr\u00e9ative\u00a0: danser est un geste politique.
