Le contre-t\u00e9nor allemand Andreas Scholl enregistre fid\u00e8lement pour Decca depuis une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es sans jamais avoir donn\u00e9 l\u2019impression de marquer un coup majeur dans sa carri\u00e8re. Oui, il a laiss\u00e9 de belles interpr\u00e9tations de Dowland, Purcell, Bach et Haendel, mais rien de plus que ce \u00e0 quoi on peut s\u2019attendre de quelqu&#8217;un d\u2019aussi dou\u00e9 dans son cr\u00e9neau. Disons qu\u2019il n\u2019a pas vraiment innov\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours des deux derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, Scholl a travaill\u00e9 avec son \u00e9pouse isra\u00e9lienne, la pianiste et claveciniste Tamar Halperin, ainsi qu\u2019avec divers amis, pour avancer sur le territoire ind\u00e9fini qui s\u2019\u00e9tend entre la musique folklorique et la composition.<\/p>\n<p>Leur nouvel album porte une s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9 \u00e9trang\u00e8re aux disques produits sous pression. La musique serpente dans le d\u00e9cor de <i>Salley Gardens<\/i> de Britten ou <i>At the River<\/i> de Copland. Il y a trois <i>lieder<\/i> tout \u00e0 fait inattendus d\u2019Alban Berg et une quantit\u00e9 non n\u00e9gligeable de morceaux tr\u00e8s familiers de Vaughan Williams. Familiers, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que Scholl commence \u00e0 chanter, en chassant l\u2019odeur de renferm\u00e9 des salons anglais et nous amenant \u00e0 des hauteurs que nous ne soup\u00e7onnions pas.
