Suivant l\u2019id\u00e9e que rien n\u2019a autant de succ\u00e8s qu\u2019un succ\u00e8s, Beethoven vendit \u00e0 son \u00e9diteur une version suppl\u00e9mentaire du septuor, r\u00e9duit \u00e0 un trio pour clarinette (ou violon), violoncelle et piano, et enregistr\u00e9e en tant qu\u2019opus 38. Contrairement aux attentes, cette version n\u2019a jamais connu la m\u00eame popularit\u00e9 que le septuor. Et je ne me souviens pas d\u2019avoir entendu un enregistrement vraiment saisissant.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019interpr\u00e9tation d&#8217;Alexander Bedenko, Kyril Zlotnikov et Itamar Golan emprunte une approche sereine, cherchant des silences intimes entre les lignes instrumentales. Cela s\u2019apparente \u00e0 une conversation de famille o\u00f9 chacun prend soin de ne pas interrompre l\u2019autre. Il s\u2019agit de la version la plus solide que j\u2019aie entendue jusqu\u2019\u00e0 maintenant de cette forme r\u00e9duite du septuor.<\/p>\n<p>Brahms, qui a acquis un amour tardif pour la clarinette, a r\u00e9serv\u00e9 cet instrument pour ses cr\u00e9ations les plus r\u00e9fl\u00e9chies, notamment dans l\u2019ultime paire de sonates pour clarinette, opus 120. Dans le m\u00eame \u00e9lan cr\u00e9atif, il a \u00e9crit un quintette et un trio pour clarinette, le tout au profit du virtuose Richard M\u00fchlfeld. Le trio, qui s\u2019ouvre sur une ligne de violoncelle langoureuse, est du Brahms \u00e0 son meilleur, contr\u00f4lant ses participants comme un animateur de <em>talk-show<\/em> veillant \u00e0 ce que le propos ne tombe jamais \u00e0 plat. En approchant de la mort, Brahms regardait fermement devant lui \u00e0 la recherche de nouvelles lignes m\u00e9lodiques. Il n\u2019y a rien de vieilli chez lui.
