Le terrifiant vampire s&#8217;est fait voler la vedette par l&#8217;organiste, qui s&#8217;est livr\u00e9 \u00e0 un v\u00e9ritable marathon de virtuosit\u00e9. Nosferatu est en effet une adaptation sans autorisation du roman Dracula de Bram Stoker.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sorti en mars 1922, <em>Nosferatu, une symphonie de l&#8217;horreur<\/em> est un film expressionniste allemand. Sortant du cadre habituel des d\u00e9cors de studio aux traits obliques et ac\u00e9r\u00e9s, que l&#8217;on retrouve notamment dans <em>L&#8217;\u00e9tudiant de Prague<\/em> (Stellan Rye, Paul Wegener) ou <em>Le cabinet du docteur Caligari<\/em> (Robert Wiene), Murnau peint sa vampirique trag\u00e9die dans des d\u00e9cors ext\u00e9rieurs, ch\u00e2teau-fort, paysages montagneux, rues et quais, un des traits qui marquera longuement l&#8217;imaginaire du genre. Le film repose sur un contraste constant entre lumi\u00e8re et obscurit\u00e9\u00a0: l&#8217;aura divine et salvatrice s&#8217;oppose aux enchantements diaboliques, les d\u00e9cors naturels aux ambiances claustrophobiques, la m\u00e9decine naturelle inspir\u00e9e de Paracelse \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9pid\u00e9mie morbide associant rats et vampires etc.<\/p>\n<p>Cette opposition est marqu\u00e9e dans le jeu \u00e0 l&#8217;orgue de Thierry Escaich, qui cr\u00e9e tant\u00f4t des ambiances dramatiques, inqui\u00e9tantes et lourdes, tant\u00f4t des atmosph\u00e8res l\u00e9g\u00e8res, a\u00e9riennes, venteuses. \u00c0 travers un jeu tr\u00e8s fourni du d\u00e9but \u00e0 la fin, il se prom\u00e8ne avec une habilet\u00e9 d\u00e9concertante entre les claviers et les registres, jouant par moments une m\u00e9lodie dans chaque main, soutenu par un jeu au p\u00e9dalier, tandis que le pied restant pr\u00e9pare la prochaine combinaison de registrations.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_372188\" style=\"width: 645px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/myscena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Grand-Orgue-PB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-372188\" class=\"wp-image-372188 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/myscena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Grand-Orgue-PB.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"635\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myscena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Grand-Orgue-PB.jpg 635w, https:\/\/myscena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Grand-Orgue-PB-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/myscena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Grand-Orgue-PB-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-372188\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grand Orgue Pierre-B\u00e9ique<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Variant les ambiances, du caract\u00e8re dansant populaire aux ostinatos hypnotiques, des passages \u00e0 la Jerry Goldsmith dans <em>Alien<\/em> aux rugissements s\u00e9pulcraux, ponctu\u00e9s de silences rares mais tr\u00e8s efficaces, Escaich tire profit des multiples possibilit\u00e9s du Grand Orgue Pierre-B\u00e9ique en donnant \u00e0 entendre une d\u00e9monstration qui nous fait presque oublier le film de Murnau.<\/p>\n<p>Thierry Escaich a confirm\u00e9 sa r\u00e9putation d&#8217;organiste hors pair lors de cette soir\u00e9e qui tenait plus du r\u00e9cital virtuose que d&#8217;un accompagnement de film muet. \u00c0 l&#8217;avenir, on aimerait d\u00e9couvrir l&#8217;\u0153uvre du compositeur, qui conna\u00eet une carri\u00e8re prolifique partout en Europe.
