Le r\u00e9cit du deuxi\u00e8me trio pour piano de Chostakovitch, datant de 1944, ne laisse aucun doute sur l\u2019\u00e9tat d\u2019esprit du compositeur \u00e0 la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Hommage ostensible \u00e0 un ami d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9, Ivan Sollertinski, l\u2019\u0153uvre se transforme en col\u00e8re et en frustration face \u00e0 des morts inutiles et \u00e0 des vies g\u00e2ch\u00e9es \u2013 l\u2019effroyable h\u00e9ritage de l\u2019\u00e9poque Staline-Hitler. Les deux derniers mouvements, avec leurs m\u00e9lodies h\u00e9bra\u00efques patentes, sont une protestation contre l\u2019indiff\u00e9rence sovi\u00e9tique \u00e0 l\u2019Holocauste nazi. Je n\u2019ai jamais entendu la finale jou\u00e9e avec un regard plus explicite sur les intentions du compositeur.<\/p>\n<p>Ce chef-d\u2019\u0153uvre intemporel est jumel\u00e9 \u00e0 deux trios de la compositrice postsovi\u00e9tique Lera Auerbach, qui s\u2019est install\u00e9e aux \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 17 ans en 1991. Musicalement, Auerbach s\u2019inscrit dans une \u00e8re post-Chostakovitch, utilisant le mordant de Bach et l\u2019ironie mahl\u00e9rienne pour composer d\u2019une mani\u00e8re sombre et d\u00e9pourvue de sentiments. Sa technique de collage, qui rappelle Alfred Schnittke en moins agressif, est efficace de diverses fa\u00e7ons surprenantes. Le plus r\u00e9cent des deux trios, datant de 2012, danse tr\u00e8s lentement sur le bord d\u2019un volcan. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 Chostakovitch contestait le totalitarisme, Auerbach d\u00e9plore nos gouvernements actuels, incertains et d\u00e9pourvus de leadership. Elle est une compositrice mature qui a beaucoup \u00e0 dire. Gerard Spronk, Irene Enzlin et Vera Kooper sont d\u2019excellents musiciens en trio et le son du nouveau studio italien d\u2019<em>Odradek<\/em> est idyllique.
