Il para\u00eetra clich\u00e9 de parler de maturit\u00e9, mais c\u2019est juste, car Lortie a effectivement acquis un bagage musical impressionnant depuis ses jeunes ann\u00e9es, et il en fait ici un usage intelligent et sensible. C\u2019est au deuxi\u00e8me degr\u00e9 de la lecture que l\u2019on remarque la v\u00e9ritable valeur de l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation du pianiste qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois. Les traits subtils et suggestifs qui touchent \u00e0 l\u2019intangible de la perception lisztienne sont effleur\u00e9s avec respect et avec soin. Lortie retourne \u00e0 la lettre des \u0153uvres, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire \u00e0 l\u2019aspect sacr\u00e9 de ces d\u00e9ambulations profanes et de ces impressions \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue charnelles, mais en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 profond\u00e9ment spirituelles. La douceur et la tendresse du jeu, l\u2019\u00e9lan brillamment calcul\u00e9 qui donne parfois la sensation d\u2019\u00eatre incontr\u00f4l\u00e9, tout cela proc\u00e8de d\u2019une lecture pr\u00e9m\u00e9dit\u00e9e et pleinement assum\u00e9e.
