Les repr\u00e9sentations auront lieu les <b>3, 4<\/b>\u00a0et <b>5 d\u00e9cembre 2026<\/b>\u00a0au <b>Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Centaur.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>MARS: Signs of Life<\/i>\u00a0est le troisi\u00e8me op\u00e9ra de l\u2019ambitieuse t\u00e9tralogie d\u2019op\u00e9ras de chambre du compositeur Tim Brady intitul\u00e9e <i>HOPE (and the dark matter of history)<\/i>. \u00c0 la suite du succ\u00e8s de <i>Backstage at Carnegie Hall<\/i>\u00a0(2022) et d\u2019<i>INFORMATION<\/i>\u00a0(2024), <i>MARS<\/i>\u00a0poursuit l\u2019exploration de questions fondamentales li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019histoire et \u00e0 la civilisation humaine, en mettant l\u2019accent sur la colonisation potentielle de Mars et les effets des changements climatiques sur la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Cet op\u00e9ra de 68 minutes raconte l\u2019histoire de trois scientifiques arrivant sur Mars en 2040. L\u2019\u0153uvre voyage dans le temps pour nous transporter ensuite en 2041, puis en 2140. Les scientifiques, identifi\u00e9es uniquement par leurs fonctions d\u2019astrobiologiste, de g\u00e9ologue et d\u2019ing\u00e9nieure, doivent relever de nombreux d\u00e9fis, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse de pannes d\u2019\u00e9quipement, du manque de ressources ou de l\u2019arriv\u00e9e de nouveaux colons venus de la Terre.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019op\u00e9ra est \u00e0 la fois monumental et intimiste. D\u2019une part, de grandes images vid\u00e9o haute r\u00e9solution de Mars enveloppent la sc\u00e8ne afin de cr\u00e9er un environnement visuel immersif. D\u2019autre part, avec seulement trois chanteuses et deux instrumentistes (guitare \u00e9lectrique et alto) sur sc\u00e8ne, les artistes entretiendront un lien tr\u00e8s direct avec le public du Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Centaur, qui compte 250 places. Une danseuse solo incarne la plan\u00e8te Mars elle-m\u00eame et son \u00e9volution potentielle face \u00e0 la colonisation humaine.<\/p>\n<p>La production est financ\u00e9e en partie par le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec, le Conseil des arts de Montr\u00e9al et la Fondation du Grand Montr\u00e9al, avec l\u2019appui du programme Trellis de l\u2019English Language Arts Network.
