Ensemble, sur une sc\u00e8ne jonch\u00e9e de diff\u00e9rents art\u00e9facts \u2013 des morceaux de bois, de grosses sph\u00e8res noires des cordes, des poulies, une balle, un magn\u00e9tophone et des vieilles cassettes, un micro \u2013 elles convoquent la pr\u00e9sence de l\u2019absence et scrutent l\u2019absence de la pr\u00e9sence. De nombreux objets sont li\u00e9s au d\u00e9funt. Le public entend d\u2019ailleurs au d\u00e9but de la performance un morceau de piano que Jeremy Gordaneer avait improvis\u00e9 et enregistr\u00e9. L\u2019environnement sonore du spectacle, qui est tr\u00e8s vari\u00e9, inclut des harmonies vocales, inspir\u00e9es du <i>keening<\/i> (une tradition celtique pratiqu\u00e9e par les femmes pour les morts) de la musique op\u00e9ratique ou celle de The Cure, un groupe que le d\u00e9funt affectionnait.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yiv8233496052MsoNormal\">Dans sa pratique, inspir\u00e9e par la philosophie n\u00e9o-mat\u00e9rialiste, Thea Patterson dialogue avec les objets. La manipulation de ceux-ci est lente, calcul\u00e9e, gracieuse. Certaines actions sont particuli\u00e8rement frappantes. Toutes les performeuses agissent ensemble et ont leur moment solo. Une cagoule souple et clout\u00e9e masquant son visage, Thea Patterson enfile des gants de boxe et se suspend.\u00e0 des cordes La sc\u00e8ne est puissante et symbolique. Le passage o\u00f9 Elinor Fueter traverse l\u2019Espace libre, un collant noir enfil\u00e9 sur la t\u00eate, trainant deux poids au bout de bout de chaque extr\u00e9mit\u00e9, est lui aussi m\u00e9morable.
