Elle est mesur\u00e9e et exquise. Harding a manifestement compl\u00e8tement repens\u00e9 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019aborder Tosca et son travail est r\u00e9v\u00e9lateur. La partition est essentiellement atonale, mais l&#8217;\u00e9criture orchestrale est tr\u00e8s atmosph\u00e9rique et textur\u00e9e, avec beaucoup de percussions accord\u00e9es. Le lyrisme n\u2019est pas en reste. La ligne vocale est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement simple et mod\u00e8re ses transports. Cela devient une habitude. Ils excellent ici comme ils l\u2019ont fait dans leur enregistrement de Peter Grimes en 2020, \u00e9galement chez Chandos. Le son orchestral est \u00e0 la fois grandiose et d\u00e9taill\u00e9, et parfois assez sinistre. On ne saurait trop insister sur la contribution de ces musiciens \u00e0 l\u2019enregistrement, car ils nous font vivre les hauts et les bas de Plat\u00e9e. D\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res notes, l\u2019auditeur est instantan\u00e9ment transport\u00e9 dans la France du 18e si\u00e8cle. Dans son interpr\u00e9tation, l\u2019orchestre exprime la royaut\u00e9, le romantisme, le drame et la vivacit\u00e9.
