Deux orchestres, comme l\u2019indique le titre de l\u2019album, et trois villes repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es\u00a0: Ottawa, Qu\u00e9bec et Toronto.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Cette \u0153uvre fait figure de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence dans le paysage contemporain. Son succ\u00e8s doit beaucoup \u00e0 l\u2019ultime mouvement avec ch\u0153ur \u00e9crit sur les mots <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetica.fr\/poeme-279\/liberte-paul-eluard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">du po\u00e8me de Paul \u00c9luard <em>Libert\u00e9<\/em><\/a>. Ici, la texture orchestrale d\u00e9doubl\u00e9e offre un son exceptionnellement riche, notamment du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des cordes et des cuivres. Des fragments de th\u00e8mes r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s \u00e0 la trompette pr\u00e9figurent d\u00e9j\u00e0 le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre finale.<\/p>\n<p>Si le choix d\u2019associer un ch\u0153ur \u00e0 l\u2019orchestre rappelle in\u00e9vitablement Beethoven, le r\u00e9cit en musique des conditions de vie effroyables durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale fait davantage penser \u00e0 Chostakovitch. Dans le deuxi\u00e8me mouvement, <em>Invasion, <\/em>les lignes chromatiques et les changements de rythmes, en plus de la magnitude de deux orchestres, contribuent \u00e0 g\u00e9n\u00e9rer cet \u00e9tat de tension permanente.<\/p>\n<p>Avec le troisi\u00e8me mouvement, on passe de la terreur \u00e0 l\u2019horreur de la guerre. La r\u00e9p\u00e9tition de motifs dissonants, jumel\u00e9s aux vibrantes percussions, illustre parfaitement l\u2019angoisse dans laquelle est plong\u00e9 le pays sous l\u2019Occupation.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le finale, tous les pupitres du ch\u0153ur, m\u00eame les plus aigus, apportent un grand soin aux paroles de <em>Libert\u00e9<\/em>. Il n\u2019est presque pas besoin d\u2019avoir recours au livret, ce qui en dit long sur la qualit\u00e9 de la prestation. Les fl\u00fbtes, la clarinette et le hautbois ressortent aussi particuli\u00e8rement bien de l\u2019ensemble orchestral.
