On en entend parler\u2026 et on l\u2019entend chanter, de cette voix ample et g\u00e9n\u00e9reuse qu\u2019on imagine r\u00e9sonner un jour sur des sc\u00e8nes importantes. On peut donc ressentir un certain \u00e9tonnement en d\u00e9couvrant son premier enregistrement officiel, constitu\u00e9 de sept m\u00e9lodies fran\u00e7aises qui \u00e9voquent plut\u00f4t l\u2019intimit\u00e9 d\u2019un salon.<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Une fois cet \u00e9tonnement pass\u00e9, on se dit qu\u2019il faut plut\u00f4t f\u00e9liciter la jeune artiste d\u2019avoir fait preuve de prudence en choisissant ces pi\u00e8ces qui mettent en valeur sa musicalit\u00e9 et son tact, au lieu de se mesurer \u00e0 des h\u00e9ro\u00efnes d\u2019op\u00e9ra, l\u00e0 o\u00f9 on l\u2019attendrait plus spontan\u00e9ment. (Sur YouTube, on peut l\u2019entendre en Comtesse des <em>Noces de Figaro<\/em>, Tatiana d\u2019<em>Eug\u00e8ne On\u00e9guine<\/em> et m\u00eame dans le <em>Vissi d\u2019arte<\/em> de <em>Tosca<\/em>, qu\u2019elle d\u00e9fend de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s convaincante.) Oui, un jour nous aurons certainement droit \u00e0 un enregistrement avec orchestre de grands r\u00f4les du r\u00e9pertoire, o\u00f9 la voix majestueuse de St-Gelais pourra donner libre cours \u00e0 toute sa force.<\/p>\n<p>En attendant, on lui sait gr\u00e9 de nous faire d\u00e9couvrir deux m\u00e9lodies peu connues de la trop sous-estim\u00e9e C\u00e9cile Chaminade (<em>Infini<\/em> et <em>Villanelle<\/em>), une raret\u00e9 de Bizet (<em>Pastel<\/em>) et une de Saint-Sa\u00ebns (<em>Si vous n\u2019avez rien \u00e0 me dire<\/em>). Dans ces jolis bibelots finement cisel\u00e9s, m\u00eame si l\u2019artiste offre un chant tr\u00e8s soign\u00e9, sa grande voix semble parfois un peu \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9troit.<\/p>\n<p>Les trois autres plages, plus connues, lui donnent l\u2019occasion de briller davantage. Son interpr\u00e9tation des fameux <em>Chemins de l\u2019amour<\/em> de Poulenc, pour \u00eatre moins proche de celle de la cr\u00e9atrice Yvonne Printemps, que de <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/HarvxxqPjjQ?si=_cSxfOhdw5MZImtW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">celle d\u2019une Jessye Norman<\/a> par exemple, n\u2019en est pas moins tr\u00e8s convaincante. Mais c\u2019est dans <em>Phydil\u00e9<\/em> de Duparc, judicieusement plac\u00e9e en fin de r\u00e9cital, que la voix de St-Gelais s\u2019\u00e9panouit le mieux. En effet, cette m\u00e9lodie offre une progression savamment dos\u00e9e, des longues phrases envo\u00fbtantes, qui procurent autant de satisfaction qu\u2019un grand air d\u2019op\u00e9ra.<\/p>\n<p>La jeune artiste peut s\u2019appuyer sur toute l\u2019exp\u00e9rience de Louise Pelletier, qui accompagne ce programme avec intelligence et raffinement.
