Ries, qui connaissait Beethoven depuis Bonn, a \u00e9t\u00e9 son secr\u00e9taire avant de s&#8217;installer \u00e0 Londres o\u00f9 il a jou\u00e9 un r\u00f4le actif dans la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 philharmonique qui a command\u00e9 la neuvi\u00e8me symphonie. Clement, pour qui Beethoven a compos\u00e9 son concerto pour violon, a \u00e9t\u00e9 remplac\u00e9 comme violon solo \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de la neuvi\u00e8me. Bien qu&#8217;aucun des deux hommes n&#8217;ait \u00e9t\u00e9 retenu par la post\u00e9rit\u00e9, il est int\u00e9ressant de voir \u00e0 quel point Beethoven a d\u00e9teint sur leurs \u0153uvres.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le cas de Ries, le premier mouvement de sa premi\u00e8re symphonie reprend un th\u00e8me du concerto pour violon, tandis que le deuxi\u00e8me mouvement s&#8217;inspire all\u00e8grement de l\u2019\u00ab\u00a0Eroica\u00a0\u00bb, dont Ries \u00e9tait le copiste. Mais dans la moiti\u00e9 de la deuxi\u00e8me minute, Ries se met \u00e0 saccager l\u2019\u00ab Eroica \u00bb \u00e0 pleines mains, comme un gamin d\u00e9cha\u00een\u00e9 dans un magasin de bonbons. La Tapiola Sinfonietta, sous la direction de Janne Nisonen, joue avec vivacit\u00e9, vigueur et sourire fugace.<\/p>\n<p>Les <em>Caprices <\/em>et <em>Variations<\/em> de Clement sonnent forc\u00e9s entre les mains de Haolin Lin, qui s&#8217;est fait conna\u00eetre pour la premi\u00e8re fois en tant que laur\u00e9at d&#8217;un concours national chinois. Le fait qu\u2019il s&#8217;agisse en grande partie de premiers enregistrements nous dispense de toute comparaison. La musique est prudente, terne et d\u00e9cevante. Clement jouait souvent \u00e0 l\u2019envers pour \u00e9pater la galerie, ce qui aurait pu changer la donne ici. Beethoven a qualifi\u00e9 l&#8217;un de ses ensembles de \u00ab pauvre et monotone \u00bb.
