Les Nuits de Paris sont l\u2019\u00e9quivalent fran\u00e7ais du Concert du Nouvel An de l\u2019Orchestre philharmonique de Vienne, consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 la musique de Johann Strauss et de ses contemporains viennois.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019orchestre Les Si\u00e8cles, dirig\u00e9 par Fran\u00e7ois-Xavier Roth, interpr\u00e8te cette musique sur des instruments d\u2019\u00e9poque. Ensemble, Bru Zane et l\u2019orchestre ont collabor\u00e9 \u00e0 un certain nombre d\u2019enregistrements r\u00e9ussis, incluant ce disque.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019album associe des morceaux familiers, comme la <em>Valse des patineurs<\/em> de Waldteufel, \u00e0 un r\u00e9pertoire plus obscur, comme <em>L\u2019Amour s\u2019\u00e9veille<\/em> de la compositrice Jeanne Danglas (1871-1915). La valse rarement entendue du <em>Timbre d\u2019argent<\/em> de Saint-Sa\u00ebns est un d\u00e9lice du d\u00e9but \u00e0 la fin. <em>L\u2019ouverture de Raymond<\/em> d\u2019Ambroise Thomas \u00e9tait autrefois un incontournable des concerts populaires, mais elle a presque disparu du r\u00e9pertoire de concert. Les Si\u00e8cles l\u2019interpr\u00e8tent avec une verve qui am\u00e8ne l\u2019auditeur \u00e0 se demander pour quelle raison il en est ainsi.
