Initialement adepte de ce que l\u2019on appelle l\u2019avant-garde de Kyiv, qui s\u2019est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e autour des ann\u00e9es 1960, Silvestrov a connu un plus grand succ\u00e8s dans le style qu\u2019il appelle lui-m\u00eame la \u00ab\u00a0m\u00e9ta-musique\u00a0\u00bb \u2013 la musique m\u00e9taphorique. Dans l\u2019\u00e9criture de Silvestrov, un lyrisme touchant d\u2019inspiration mahl\u00e9rienne et des couleurs contemporaines coexistent\u00a0: le langage de ce style est universel et se veut pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment un instrument \u00e0 partir duquel l\u2019auditeur peut donner son propre sens \u00e0 la musique.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019art peut \u00eatre une m\u00e9taphore et cet album en capte brillamment le potentiel. Il est empreint d\u2019une nostalgie ind\u00e9finie; il offre un go\u00fbt narratif qui nous procure un grand plaisir artistique. Dans ces \u0153uvres, les textes sont tir\u00e9s d\u2019auteurs renomm\u00e9s de la litt\u00e9rature russe (Pouchkine, Mendelstam, pour n\u2019en citer que quelques-uns), ukrainienne (Chevtchenko) et anglaise (Keats et Shelley).<\/p>\n<p>La pianiste H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Grimaud et le baryton Konstantin Krimmel ouvrent le bal avec <i>Song Can Heal the Ailing Spirit<\/i>, extr\u00eamement touchant et conforme \u00e0 la conception de Silvestrov, qui consid\u00e8re l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment m\u00e9lodique comme le fondement de son esth\u00e9tique compositionnelle. <i>Farewell, O World, Farewell, O Earth<\/i> et <i>A Winter Journey<\/i> sont \u00e9galement int\u00e9ressants, car ils illustrent la mani\u00e8re dont les titres et les atmosph\u00e8res sonores sont imbriqu\u00e9s les uns dans les autres. La t\u00e2che des interpr\u00e8tes, ici plus qu\u2019ailleurs, est simplement d\u2019offrir la musique comme un cadeau universel au public \u2013 ce qu\u2019ils r\u00e9ussissent parfaitement. La voix de Krimmel, l\u2019un des jeunes barytons les plus en vue de la sc\u00e8ne internationale, est aussi naturelle qu\u2019expressive.
