La difficult\u00e9 de la musique de Schumann est de rendre justice \u00e0 un esprit souvent tourment\u00e9 sans pour autant tomber dans une sonorit\u00e9 inappropri\u00e9e. Wan et Richard-Hamelin r\u00e9ussissent \u00e0 merveille ce travail d\u2019\u00e9quilibre, qui repr\u00e9sente au fond le probl\u00e8me de toute l\u2019esth\u00e9tique schumannienne, suspendue entre action et pens\u00e9e, sentiment et raison : Eusebius et Florestan.<\/p>\n<p>La <i>Sonate en la mineur<\/i> sans num\u00e9ro d\u2019opus est bien interpr\u00e9t\u00e9e dans le ton dramatique qui lui est propre \u2212 tant\u00f4t passionn\u00e9, comme dans les premier et quatri\u00e8me mouvements, tant\u00f4t lyrique et franc, comme dans l\u2019<i>Intermezzo<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Le son de Wan se fait extr\u00eamement expressif, sans rien d\u2019exag\u00e9r\u00e9. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Richard-Hamelin parvient impeccablement \u00e0 s\u2019ins\u00e9rer sinueusement dans les plis typiques de l\u2019\u00e9criture schumannienne, prenant parfois le relais avec une impulsion pertinente. On retrouve dans les deux parties une certaine l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 volante qui est une autre des caract\u00e9ristiques fondatrices de l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re schumannienne.<\/p>\n<p>Il convient de souligner le troisi\u00e8me mouvement de la <i>Sonate en r\u00e9 mineur<\/i>, op. 121. Schumann demande \u00ab\u00a0<i>leise, einfach<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb \u2212 tranquille et simple. Au milieu de tant de bouleversements spirituels et psychologiques, le pizzicato de Wan et la douceur de Richard-Hamelin apportent un moment de d\u00e9tente et de calme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2me \u00e9branl\u00e9e de l\u2019auditeur.
