Sous ce nom se dissimule Claude-Arnold Thibault, jazzman dans l\u2019\u00e2me, chanteur dans la pure tradition am\u00e9ricaine.<\/p>&#13;\n<\/p>&#13;\n<p>Sur un versant, il est dou\u00e9 d\u2019une diction impeccable, on ne perd pas un mot; de plus, il s\u2019est entour\u00e9 d\u2019une belle \u00e9quipe dont quelques-uns de ses fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs ainsi que des pointures de chez nous tels les pianistes Felix St\u00fcssi et John Sadoway, le bassiste Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Alarie, m\u00eame Ron Di Lauro et Andr\u00e9 Leroux, en solistes furtifs.<\/p>\n<p>Douze vieux saucissons du jazz d\u00e9filent au cours de cette heure :<em> Just Friends<\/em>, <em>Love for Sale<\/em>, <em>April in Paris<\/em>, <em>Stella by Starlight<\/em>, m\u00eame deux num\u00e9ros de Charlie Parker,<em> Donna Lee<\/em> et S<em>ippin\u2019 at Bells, <\/em>chant\u00e9s ici en scat pur. On salue le fait qu\u2019il laisse de la place \u00e0 des solos de ses musiciens, les pianistes en particulier, se donnant aussi quelques moments pour \u00ab scatter \u00bb les siens. Les arrangements, enfin, sont bien fignol\u00e9s et ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s avec esprit par tout le monde, mais dans un registre qui nous renvoie aux ann\u00e9es 1950-1960. Sur l\u2019autre versant, il y a cet artifice du \u00ab scat singing \u00bb dont quelques-uns raffolent et qui en rebute d\u2019autres.<\/p>\n<p>Mais en 2022, cette r\u00e9alisation passe pour une esp\u00e8ce d\u2019exposition mus\u00e9ale. Pour utiliser le bon mot de Rohmer : \u00ab Le mus\u00e9e, c\u2019est l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 l\u2019on peut v\u00e9rifier les choses qui ne sont plus \u00e0 faire. \u00bb Un bon candidat pour notre festival de jazz d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 en tout cas.
