{"id":1025671,"date":"2022-11-12T15:12:21","date_gmt":"2022-11-12T19:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myscena.org\/?p=1025671"},"modified":"2022-11-12T15:19:12","modified_gmt":"2022-11-12T19:19:12","slug":"critique-ensemble-caprice-un-vent-de-fraicheur-sur-didon-et-enee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/myscena.org\/fr\/justin-bernard\/critique-ensemble-caprice-un-vent-de-fraicheur-sur-didon-et-enee\/","title":{"rendered":"Critique | Ensemble Caprice: un vent de fra\u00eecheur sur Didon et \u00c9n\u00e9e"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\" style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Apr\u00e8s son premier concert de la saison, en hommage \u00e0 Isolde Lagac\u00e9, l\u2019Ensemble Caprice revenait \u00e0 la salle Bourgie, le 8 novembre dernier, pour une repr\u00e9sentation de l\u2019op\u00e9ra <em>Didon et \u00c9n\u00e9e <\/em>d\u2019Henry Purcell, en version concert.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Surprise du chef, cette \u0153uvre phare de la p\u00e9riode baroque \u00e9tait pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e d\u2019un nouveau morceau de Matthias Maute lui-m\u00eame, intitul\u00e9 <em>A Prologue to Dido et Aeneas<\/em>. Pour l\u2019occasion, le compositeur et chef d\u2019orchestre avait song\u00e9 \u00e0 deux fins alternatives avec ch\u0153ur, l\u2019une sur un texte extrait du monologue de Don Rodrigue dans <em>Le Cid <\/em>de Pierre Corneille et l\u2019autre sur des paroles originales en anglais. \u00c0 la mani\u00e8re d\u2019un vote \u00e0 la cri\u00e9e, le public \u2013 tr\u00e8s nombreux \u2013 devait faire son choix, ce qui a donn\u00e9 lieu \u00e0 une sc\u00e8ne assez chaotique, mais tout de m\u00eame amusante. Le r\u00e9sultat ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s serr\u00e9, l\u2019Ensemble Caprice a fini par jouer les deux fins soumises au vote, l\u2019une en guise de prologue et l\u2019autre en guise d\u2019\u00e9pilogue \u00e0 l\u2019op\u00e9ra de Purcell.<\/p>\r\n<p>Interpr\u00e8te avertie du r\u00e9pertoire baroque, la soprano Myriam Leblanc a su chanter le r\u00f4le de Didon parfaitement dans le style requis, avec souplesse et raffinement. Sa voix pleine de couleurs enveloppait chaleureusement la salle, dans les passages doux comme dans les passages forts. Le baryton Dominique C\u00f4t\u00e9, incarnant \u00c9n\u00e9e, avait pour lui la puissance et l\u2019athl\u00e9tisme. Une voix charg\u00e9e de testost\u00e9rone ! \u00c0 son avantage dans l\u2019air extrait de \u00ab Stay, Prince, and hear Jove\u2019s command \u00bb (finale de l\u2019acte II), il a offert au public un moment d\u2019\u00e9motion comparable \u00e0 la complainte d\u00e9chirante de Didon, \u00ab When I am laid in earth \u00bb (acte III).<\/p>\r\n<p>Seul autre interpr\u00e8te masculin de cette distribution, le t\u00e9nor Nils Brown a impressionn\u00e9 par la finesse de son phras\u00e9 dans le r\u00f4le \u2013 tr\u00e8s bref \u2013 de l\u2019Esprit. Au d\u00e9but de l\u2019acte III, il est revenu sur le devant de la sc\u00e8ne dans la peau du Premier marin, faisant ici appr\u00e9cier son talent d&#8217;acteur dans un tout autre registre. Parmi les autres solistes, soulignons la prestation de la soprano Janelle Lucyk (Belinda, s\u0153ur de Didon).
