D\u2019une mer \u00e0 l\u2019autre. C\u2019est la devise du Canada et certainement celle de l\u2019album Shanties! Live, paru chez Leaf Music. Deux ensembles vocaux, l\u2019un de Montr\u00e9al, l\u2019autre de Vancouver, ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de s\u2019unir pour un spectacle d\u2019un soir. Ensemble, La Nef et Chor Leoni ont interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 un r\u00e9pertoire de chansons de marins (sea shanties en anglais), arrang\u00e9es par Se\u00e1n Dagher, et ont pu heureusement garder la trace de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement qui a eu lieu, rappelons-le, au Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (Vancouver), le 22 f\u00e9vrier 2020.<\/p>\n<p>La Nef a fait de ce r\u00e9pertoire l\u2019une de ses sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9s, comme en t\u00e9moignent son album Sea Songs &amp; Shanties, paru en 2017, et son plus r\u00e9cent projet Baratin d\u2019marins. Quant \u00e0 Chor Leoni, l\u2019ensemble de Vancouver a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 aux JUNO et impressionne par la qualit\u00e9 des voix, notamment dans Stormalong John. Cette quatri\u00e8me pi\u00e8ce de l\u2019album nous fait entendre, entre autres, un beau solo de baryton. En revanche, le solo de t\u00e9nor dans Rolling Down to Old Maui para\u00eet beaucoup trop agressif et contract\u00e9. Dans l\u2019ensemble, le r\u00e9pertoire de Shanties Live! est certes nich\u00e9, mais il m\u00e9rite d\u2019\u00eatre apprivois\u00e9.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shanties!
