Mais, comme beaucoup d\u2019autres choses, Beethoven est dans une cat\u00e9gorie \u00e0 part. Il a peu \u00e9crit, mais ce qu\u2019il a \u00e9crit vaut de l\u2019or. Tant de mati\u00e8re, tant d\u2019id\u00e9es musicales \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir et \u00e0 red\u00e9couvrir, tant d\u2019inventivit\u00e9 que cent \u0153uvres d\u2019un compositeur moyen ne sauraient contenir\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Sur ce double album paru chez Leaf Music, le violoncelliste Robert DeMaine et le pianiste Peter Tak\u00e1cs commencent par le commencement : les sonates 1 et 2, regroup\u00e9es sous l\u2019opus 5, suivies des opus 69 et 102. Enfin, pour finir, trois variations en sol, fa et mi b\u00e9mol majeur. Les notes discographiques renseignent tr\u00e8s justement l\u2019auditeur sur la nature de ces compositions. \u00ab Les deux sonates formant l\u2019opus 5 (en 1796) font de Beethoven l\u2019inventeur de la sonate moderne pour violoncelle [&#8230;] Les \u0153uvres musicales ant\u00e9rieures pour violoncelle et clavier mettaient en valeur un seul des deux instruments par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019autre, tandis que, dans ses deux sonates, Beethoven met les deux instruments sur un pied de quasi-\u00e9galit\u00e9, dans la fa\u00e7on dont ils dialoguent l\u2019un avec l\u2019autre. \u00bb \u00c0 l\u2019oreille, Robert DeMaine et Peter Tak\u00e1cs entretiennent ce dialogue \u00e0 la perfection. La richesse du timbre et le lyrisme du violoncelliste compl\u00e8tent merveilleusement la virtuosit\u00e9 et la fougue du pianiste. Cette alchimie musicale continue de faire des \u00e9tincelles jusque dans les Variations de Beethoven, notamment celles en fa majeur sur un th\u00e8me de La Fl\u00fbte enchant\u00e9e de Mozart. Comme dans une conversation, chaque instrument a l\u2019occasion de briller, l\u2019un \u00e0 la suite de l\u2019autre.
