Jansons, qui est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 en novembre 2019 \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e2ge de 76 ans, n&#8217;\u00e9tait pas principalement connu pour sa religiosit\u00e9 ou ses chefs-d&#8217;\u0153uvre choraux, mais sa mise en forme de ce triptyque est si magistrale qu&#8217;on peut difficilement imaginer qu&#8217;ils soient pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s avec plus de coh\u00e9rence ou de sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><em>La Messe de Berlin<\/em> d&#8217;Arvo P\u00e4rt, compos\u00e9e en 1990 \u00e0 l&#8217;occasion de la r\u00e9unification de la ville, est une mise en musique en cinq parties de l&#8217;office catholique romain dans un idiome \u00e0 la fois respectueux de la sonorit\u00e9 traditionnelle et poussant doucement vers un modernisme minimal qui est la marque de fabrique du compositeur. L&#8217;\u00e9criture chorale est d&#8217;une authenticit\u00e9 qui n&#8217;aurait pas fait honte \u00e0 Gregorio Allegri.<\/p>\n<p>Francis Poulenc a \u00e9crit son <em>Stabat Mater<\/em> alors qu&#8217;il pleurait un ami en 1950. Il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;une \u0153uvre ouvertement pieuse, mais sensuelle et lyrique, des pulsions humaines presque contradictoires. Je ne cesse de penser que seul Poulenc aurait pu y parvenir. Par certains aspects reconnaissables, l&#8217;oratorio fait office de carnet d&#8217;esquisses pour son op\u00e9ra, <em>Dialogue des carm\u00e9lites<\/em>, qui l&#8217;occupera pendant le reste de la d\u00e9cennie.<\/p>\n<p>Igor Stravinsky \u00e9tait religieux dans un sens tr\u00e8s russe, c&#8217;est-\u00e0-dire qu&#8217;il \u00e9tait obs\u00e9d\u00e9 par le rituel plus que par l&#8217;\u00e9thique, le sens et la moralit\u00e9. Sa <em>Symphonie de psaumes<\/em> est le sommet de son \u0153uvre n\u00e9oclassique des ann\u00e9es 1930, compos\u00e9e &#8220;dans un climat d&#8217;exub\u00e9rance religieuse et musicale&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Les textures, qui comprennent une harpe, deux pianos et des timbales, sont presque impossibles \u00e0 \u00e9quilibrer pour la plupart des chefs d&#8217;orchestre, mais pas pour Jansons, dont l&#8217;interpr\u00e9tation est \u00e0 la fois passionn\u00e9e et pr\u00e9cise, tout en \u00e9tant l\u00e9g\u00e8re et translucide (la soprano envol\u00e9e est Genia K\u00fchmeier). Il s&#8217;agit l\u00e0 d&#8217;un chef d&#8217;orchestre exceptionnel, dans une musique qui ne justifie pas toujours un tel engagement. Jansons \u00e9tait l&#8217;un des plus grands.
