Toutes deux \u00e9tudiantes \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9, elles ont rapidement form\u00e9 un duo, mais c\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois que l\u2019on peut les entendre sur disque. Elles ont choisi un r\u00e9pertoire de compositeurs actuels avec l\u2019id\u00e9e en t\u00eate de pr\u00e9senter la <i>Sonate pour fl\u00fbte et harpe<\/i>, op. 56, de Lowell Liebermann et <i>lumena<\/i> de Riho Esko Maimets, fr\u00e8re de Kaili. Une autre sonate pour fl\u00fbte et harpe, compos\u00e9e par Marjan Mozetich, et une \u0153uvre originale \u00e9crite sp\u00e9cialement pour le duo, <i>Little Feng Huang<\/i> de Kevin Lau, compl\u00e8tent le programme.<\/p>\n<p>La pi\u00e8ce qui pr\u00eate son nom \u00e0 ce premier album est aussi la premi\u00e8re. Elle nous plonge dans un monde de m\u00e9ditation s\u00e9duisant, mais nous fait bient\u00f4t d\u00e9couvrir des chemins escarp\u00e9s, une musique virevoltante et des sons r\u00e9solument tourn\u00e9s vers la modernit\u00e9, laquelle conserve toujours une part d\u2019attrait et nous pousse \u00e0 en d\u00e9couvrir davantage. La cr\u00e9ation de Kevin Lau exploite \u00e0 merveille ce pouvoir \u00e9vocateur de la fl\u00fbte et de la harpe qui, lorsque combin\u00e9es, nous charment irr\u00e9sistiblement par leurs sonorit\u00e9s quasi mystiques. \u00c0 l\u2019image de l\u2019album, il y a en m\u00eame temps dans cette musique une force cach\u00e9e, fascinante, mais aussi inqui\u00e9tante, qui pourrait surgir \u00e0 tout moment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>lumena The Topaz Duo; Kaili Maimets, fl\u00fbte, Angela Schwarzkopf, harpe.
