Pour cette compagnie qui aime souvent filer la m\u00e9taphore de l\u2019embarcation \u00e0 propos de ses mille et un projets, le choix du r\u00e9pertoire semble s\u2019imposer comme une \u00e9vidence.<\/p>\n<p>Issues des r\u00e9gions maritimes du nord de la France et du Qu\u00e9bec, les chansons de <i>Baratin d\u2019marins <\/i>racontent la dure vie de ces hommes qui voguent au gr\u00e9 des temp\u00eates, leur drame personnel parfois, mais aussi leur humour dans la pure tradition des chansons gaillardes.<\/p>\n<p>Sous la direction de leur capitaine Se\u00e1n Dagher, les membres de l\u2019\u00e9quipage musical nous m\u00e8nent ainsi aux quatre vents, de Saint-Malo \u00e0 Valparaiso en passant par San Francisco. Les textures sonores touchent au c\u0153ur par leur simplicit\u00e9 d\u00e9sarmante, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse des solos <i>a capella <\/i>de l\u2019excellent chanteur \u2013 et conteur \u2013 Pierre-Alexandre Saint-Yves, des duos entre le nyckelharpa et la cornemuse (<i>Larid\u00e9 vite<\/i>) ou des trios entre le violoncelle, le cistre et la fl\u00fbte \u00e0 bec (<i>Larid\u00e9 lent<\/i>). Ce qui frappe avant tout, c\u2019est la sinc\u00e9rit\u00e9 des voix et la justesse des ch\u0153urs avec Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Daigneault en renfort.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 ses qualit\u00e9s ind\u00e9niables, l\u2019album ne se laisse pas apprivoiser facilement. Les auditeurs comprendront qu\u2019on a l\u00e0 un r\u00e9pertoire atypique et des pi\u00e8ces qui nous interpellent plus que d\u2019autres. Parmi nos pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9es, <i>Baie Sainte-Anne <\/i>et <i>Belle Virginie <\/i>pour l\u2019\u00e9motion qu\u2019elles suscitent, <i>Marin corsaire <\/i>et <i>La Crassue <\/i>pour leur humour ainsi que <i>Le capitaine de Saint-Malo<\/i> pour le parfait m\u00e9lange des voix allant <i>crescendo<\/i>.
