“There is delightful flexibility and conversational ease in these masterful performances”
— Gramophone (on Alfredo Bernardini and his group Zefiro)
Delight in this snapshot of music by Bach contemporaries Telemann and Fasch, as Tafelmusik favourite Alfredo Bernardini returns with his trademark spirited style.
Spectacular, sensual, and ebullient: it’s no surprise these words appear frequently in reviews for Alfredo Bernardini. The charismatic Italian oboist returns to our stage for a program devoted to the music of Telemann and Fasch, two highly admired friends—and rivals—of Bach.
Bernardini has hand-picked an oboe-friendly selection of concertos and suites that were performed at the royal courts of Dresden and Darmstadt, including the Concerto in B-flat Major for 3 oboes and 3 violins by Telemann, and the Orchestral Suite in G Minor by Fasch. A studio recording of this program is slated for future release on the Tafelmusik Media label.
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Orchestral suites by Telemann and Fasch
- Telemann Concerto for 3 oboes, 3 violas & continuo
- Fasch Concert for violoin, 2 oboes & bassoon
INCLUDED IN SUBSCRIPTION SERIES:
- Full 10
- 5 Concert A
