Snowglobe Theatre presents an evening of two operas at Loyola Chapel.

Riders to the Sea, by Ralph Vaughan Williams

In the wind-swept, desolate Aran Islands, Maurya has lost her husband and five of her sons to the sea – now she fears the death of her youngest and last, Bartley. Maurya’s daughters Cathleen and Nora do their best to care for her, but they cannot shield her from disaster. Vaughan Williams’ opera is a setting of John Millington Synge’s play, a classic of Irish drama.

The Medium, by Gian Carlo Menotti

Spirits don’t really come when the Medium calls – or do they?
The self-avowed skeptic Madam Flora lived off the desperation and credulity of her customers for years…until inexplicable events began to occur. Her teen-aged daughter Monica and Toby, the mute orphan who loves her, will suffer the tragic consequences of her spiraling paranoia. A tense psychodrama with a libretto by the composer, in hauntingly poetic style.

About Author

Our mission: To promote the love of theatre in Montreal, and to provide opportunities for new and emerging artists in Montreal to hone their craft. We produce shows both musical and non-musical to create better opportunities to reach out to artists with different types of training and background, and to diversify the sorts of presentations we’ll offer to the community. We will also pursue school outreach to to bring theatre—especially Shakespeare—to high school programs with a special emphasis on demonstrating that Shakespeare can be interesting and accessible to young people. Additionally we offer community workshops, discussion groups, and special presentations to offer opportunities for the community to get involved in the theatre.
