In this chat Alexander Shelley, Music Director of the NAC orchestra, and Venezuela economist Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg discuss NACO’s 2022 tour theme Truth In Our Time. Together, they will tackle 3 major questions: What is truth? Why do we seek to find the truth? Why do we lie?

Alexander Shelley signed on as Music Director of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in September 2015. The ensemble has since been praised as “an orchestra transformed … hungry, bold, and unleashed” (Ottawa Citizen) and Alexander’s programming credited for turning the orchestra “almost overnight … into one of the more audacious orchestras in North America.” (Maclean’s magazine).

Economist Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg, is founding chair of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas and chair of the Executive Committee of the Washington Opera. She has also acted as director and served on the boards for many arts organizations and corporations including the National Symphony Orchestra, amongst others.
