INTERNATIONAL ENCOUNTERS • CREATION • LARGE ENSEMBLE

Proxima Centauri, HANATSU miroir and Ensemble Paramirabo are driven by the discovery of new musical territories and each have an artistic approach that is open to other disciplines such as the plastic arts, dance and scenography. It is therefore quite natural that the idea of a Franco-Canadian exchange developed between the three ensembles.

CONFLUENCE was born from the desire of the three ensembles to create a space for artistic creation that would highlight the musical dynamism of three regions of the world. Through a show mixing today’s musical writing, new technologies and scenography, CONFLUENCE presents itself as a creative meeting point.
Five creations by European and Quebec composers bring together the three ensembles. Some of them draw their inspiration from French or Argentinean literature, others from the modeling of natural phenomena or the development of structures and sound textures from tumuli and cumuli.
