I Musici-Light in Darkness

Two luminous, celestial voices, those of Myriam Leblanc and Maude Brunet, illuminate one of Pergolesi’s most beloved works. In addition, the audience will hear a piece by contemporary composer Missy Mazzoli, “Dark with Excessive Bright,” a title that summarizes the program for the concert, a survivor of the 2019-2020 season. Her concerto features the deep sombre sound of Yannick Chênevert’s double bass, an instrument rarely heard alone. Between the darkness and light, the audience will also be treated to a work by composer Kelly-Marie Murphy, commissioned by I Musici.
