Le programme qui a été choisi pour Folie et Fantaisie est une combinaison éclectique de la répertoire de trio à vent. Le concert commence avec les doux et flottant sons de la Petite Suite de Debussy, initialement écrites pour piano, quatre mains. La deuxième pièce sur le programme est le Tarantelle qui a été écrit pour flûte, clarinette et orchestre de Camille Saint-Seans. Inspiré par la danse italienne “Tarantella”, il est une pièce énergique et passionnante. La première moitié se terminera par un morceau inspiré par la musique folklorique Arménienne et le mystique Khustup Montagne par Jeff Manookian. L’ambiance du concert permettra d’alléger avec “Bohemia, a Rag” écrit par Joseph F. Lamb. Le concert va terminer avec un mélange passionnant de thèmes de l’opéra bien connu, “Carmen” arrangé par Michael Webster.

The program that has been chosen for Folie et Fantaisie is an eclectic combination of classic and modern woodwind trio repertoire. The concert begins with the soft, floating sounds of Debussy’s Petite Suite which was originally written for piano, four hands. The second piece on the program is the Tarantelle which was written for flute, clarinet and orchestra by Camille Saint-Seans. Inspired by the Italian dance “Tarantella”, it is an energetic and exciting piece of music. The first half will conclude with a piece inspired by Armenian folk music and the mystical Khustup Mountain by Jeff Manookian. The mood of the concert will lighten with Bohemia, a rag originally written by Joseph F. Lamb and draw to an exciting conclusion with an exciting mix of themes from the well known opera Carmen, arranged by Michael Webster.
